Black Betty's cafe and roastery is situated in Madras Street in Christchurch and has, in its short existence, been closed down by an earthquake, found itself within the CBD Red Zone cordon, and re-opened once the cordon was reduced. Situated in close proximity to the CPIT, Black Betty's has quickly become a favourite spot for the CPIT students and local office workers alike Based in an older brick warehouse that retains vestiges of its earlier life. Hamish the owner had a good idea of what he wanted and asked Element 17 to incorporate this in the design of the cafe, roastery and tasting room. Black Betty's already enjoys a good reputation with their client base growing daily.
