salt bar: dunedin

There is a definite retro feel to both the building and the interior of the Salt Bar in Dunedin. Asked to design and fitout the bar (from what was previously a hairdressing salon) in art deco style in keeping with the building, there is extensive use made of 1940s style lighting, brick and plaster cornices and lighting roses. Add the extensive use of timber, mainly oak, in the furniture and fittings and all of this gives a warm and welcoming feel.
